Sanwo-Olu to Commission 420 New Homes in Badagry

To further his administration’s commitment to bridging the housing deficit in Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, commission the newly completed Lagos State Housing Estate, Ajara Phase I, Badagry, comprising 420 modern housing units.

The project, which will provide accommodation for over 2,000 residents, represents another milestone in the state government’s drive to deliver affordable and quality homes to Lagosians across all socio-economic strata.

In a statement signed by the Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Ministry of Housing, Lagos State, Mr. Ganiu Lawal, the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, said the Ajara Housing Estate is part of the state’s broader urban renewal and housing agenda designed to promote inclusive development and improve living standards for citizens.

According to him, the estate consists of one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments, thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse housing needs of residents.

“This project underscores Mr. Governor’s promise to complete all ongoing housing schemes and deliver decent accommodation to the people of Lagos. We are proud to add Ajara Phase I to the growing list of functional housing estates across the state,” Akinderu-Fatai stated.

He further noted that the completion of the estate will not only address the shelter needs of citizens but also stimulate the local economy through job creation and ancillary services within the Badagry community.

The Commissioner expressed appreciation to prospective homeowners and residents for their patience and confidence in the Sanwo-Olu administration, assuring them of continued transparency in the allocation process.

He cautioned interested subscribers to approach only the Estate Department of the Ministry of Housing, Block 3, Secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, for enquiries or applications, warning against dealing with unauthorized agents or touts, as the Ministry does not transact through intermediaries.

The Ajara Phase I Housing Estate is one of several state-led housing interventions aimed at ensuring that every Lagosian has access to affordable and quality homes, in line with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus developmental agenda of the Sanwo-Olu administration.
