The project, constructed under his tenure, was formally commissioned on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, D.Sc., GSSRS.

Speaking at the event, Governor Makinde commended the Lagelu Local Government for prioritizing the safety and welfare of its people, describing the new security building as a bold step towards strengthening community policing and ensuring sustainable peace across the state.

The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ojo Ademola Obafemi, who performed the official commissioning on behalf of the Governor, noted that the project reflects the administration’s determination to bring governance closer to the grassroots.

In his remarks, Chairman Morenikeji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a more secure, prosperous, and connected Lagelu, stressing that the new facility would serve as an operational base for local security initiatives, including the Amotekun Corps.

The event was attended by community leaders, security agencies, government functionaries, and residents of Lagelu, who lauded the project as timely and impactful in addressing pressing security challenges.
