Hamzat Commissions ICT Centre at Alma Mater in Mushin

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, on Friday commissioned a state-of-the-art ICT Centre at his alma mater, Odu Abore Primary School, Mushin.,,

The facility, equipped with modern computers and internet connectivity, is aimed at enhancing digital literacy among pupils and preparing them for a technology-driven future.

Dr. Hamzat, who recalled his formative years at the school, described the project as a personal fulfilment and ae demonstration of the government’s commitment to quality education. He noted that equipping children with ICT skills from the foundational level would give them a competitive edge in the global knowledge economy.

The donation, which coincided with the Deputy Governor’s 61st birthday, was described by many as a noble way of marking the milestone while giving back to society.

He urged pupils to make the best use of the centre, stressing that education remains the greatest tool to break the cycle of poverty and achieve personal fulfilment.

Community leaders, education officials, and enthusiastic pupils thronged the school premises to witness the inauguration, which many described as a landmark intervention for Mushin schools.

The commissioning adds to ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Government to integrate technology into teaching and learning across public schools in the state.
