Foundation Distributes Walk Aids and Other Equipment in Lagos

The Kehinde Oshilaja Foundation for People Living with Disabilities at the weekend distributed walking canes and other mobility equipment to beneficiaries in Lagos as part of its annual outreach programme.

The event, which coincided with the celebration of this year’s Molud Nabiu, was aimed at easing the burden of persons living with disabilities who face challenges accessing essential aids due to rising costs

Speaking at the occasion, Convener of the Foundation, Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, lamented the astronomical increase in prices of disability equipment and called on the Federal, State and Local Governments to step in with subsidies or supportive policies to make such items affordable.

 “The cost of so many equipment that used to be within the reach of our members has now become exorbitant. We appeal to government at all levels to come to our assistance in making these equipment affordable for us,” Oshilaja said.

Guests at the event commended the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful. Chief Imam of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Mainland Branch, Imam Abolanle Tajudeen, said the gesture reflected divine injunctions to support the vulnerable, while Senior Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Irorun, Ebute Metta, Pastor Gbenga Adelusi, urged well-meaning Nigerians to emulate the Foundation’s example.

The Foundation also used the occasion to appreciate its patrons and matrons for their continuous support. In his closing remarks, Comrade Oshilaja expressed gratitude to the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Lagos Mainland Branch, and other stakeholders for their encouragement and partnership.
