APC Slams PDP's Jonathan 2027 Bid, Says 'Nostalgia Won't Fix Nigeria

By Kayode Olopade

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed Prof. Jerry Gana's suggestion that former President Goodluck Jonathan should be brought back to the presidency in 2027.

According to the APC, "elections are contests of ideas, competence, and delivery—not nostalgia or recycled rhetoric.

Mogaji (Hon) Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC Spokesman, said: "The likes of Prof. Gana may well be advised not to unnecessarily heat up the polity by embarking on lawless campaigns before the official ban on electioneering is lifted, thereby underscoring once again their undemocratic credentials and disregard for due process."

The APC accuses the PDP of disregarding internal democracy and having pre-determined candidates.

The APC urges political actors to present clear, implementable programs addressing Nigeria's challenges, such as food security, power, transport, security, and youth employment.

Support for President Tinubu*: The APC reaffirms its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda to fix the economy and build infrastructure
