_Disability Foundation appeals to Government to listen to youths' grievances

 By Kayode Olopade

The Kehinde Oshilaja Foundation, a disability group, has appealed to all tiers of government in Nigeria to heed the demands of protesting youths across the country. The foundation's convener, Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, made the appeal in a statement released in Lagos, emphasizing the need for government to address the grievances of the youths.

Oshilaja acknowledged the widespread hunger and poverty in the country, stating that it's affecting everyone, including people living with disabilities. "There is serious hunger in the land, and it's affecting the poor of the poorest, including people living with disabilities," he said.

The foundation appealed to the federal, state, and local governments to listen to the demands of the youths and address their grievances. "Once the government listens and does what the youths are clamoring for, all protesters will retreat and go back to their homes," Oshilaja said.

Oshilaja emphasized that people living with disabilities are the worst hit by the economic crisis, as they are often the poorest in society without anyone to offer assistance. "Despite our efforts, it's difficult for us to eat, and people are not helping us anymore," he said.

The foundation passionately advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to listen to the grievances of Nigerians, emphasizing that it's the constitutional right of citizens to protest and the government's responsibility to listen.

The foundation also appealed to youths not to use the protest as an opportunity for violence and urged security agencies, especially the Nigeria Police, not to be power-drunk but to guard the protesters.
