— Ogedengbe: Initiative to strengthen grassroots mobilisation across 20 LGAs, 37 LCDAs
By Kayode Olopade
The Lagos State Directorate of Christian Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors is set to inaugurate coordinators and senatorial directors across the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas, as part of efforts to strengthen its grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration will be held alongside a prayer conference for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, and other candidates of the PBAT/KOH Campaign Group.
The programme, scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026, will commence at 10:00 a.m. at the ICG Campaign Ground, 58/60 Oduduwa Crescent, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
The event is organised under the leadership of the Lagos State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hon. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde, in conjunction with the Directorate of Christian Affairs headed by Rev. Dr. Sam Ogedengbe.
The initiative is themed “Standing in the Gap, Serving the Nation,” with reference to 1 Timothy 2:1–2. It is expected to bring together Christian leaders, campaign officials and grassroots coordinators for prayers for peaceful campaigns and the inauguration of the newly appointed officials.
In a statement inviting the guest speaker, Ogedengbe said the programme was in line with the directorate’s mandate to mobilise, sensitise and consolidate grassroots support for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He explained that the inauguration would mark a significant step in expanding the organisation’s reach across Lagos State, with the newly appointed coordinators and directors expected to serve as its representatives at the grassroots.
According to him, the officials will be responsible for membership growth, voter education and community engagement, while working to strengthen the organisation’s network in local governments, wards and communities.
The programme will feature keynote addresses by the Director-General of the PBAT/KOH Campaign Group, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; Hon. Tayo Ayinde; and the Lagos State APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi.
Most Rev. Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Surulere, is listed as the guest speaker.
The special guests of honour include Baba Aladura Elder Solomon A. Alao, Olori Emeritus of the C&S Unification Church, Nigeria; Bishop STV Adegbite, PhD, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission; Prophet Samson Ayorinde of WEBIC; and Venerable Senior Evangelist Tosho Matthew Oshoffa of the C.C.C. International Headquarters.
The prayer conference is part of the campaign group’s broader grassroots mobilisation activities in Lagos State. The organisers have also outlined plans to present letters of appointment to the newly inaugurated coordinators and directors.
Ogedengbe urged participants to remain committed to the organisation’s objectives, stressing the importance of peaceful political engagement, national service and community participation.
The event carries the slogan, “Hope Promised, Hope Delivered.”
