The Lagos State Directorate of Christian Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors has commenced an aggressive grassroots mobilisation campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, with plans to mobilise about 3,500 leaders across the state’s local government areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
The organisation disclosed this during a mobilisation meeting held on Tuesday at its secretariat, 7B Oduduwa Way, Ikeja, Lagos, where coordinators across the senatorial districts, LGAs and LCDAs were urged to strengthen their structures and intensify grassroots engagement.
The meeting, which focused on the accreditation of coordinators, presentation of action plans and strategies for expanding the directorate’s grassroots operations, commenced at about 12:10 p.m. with more than 30 minutes of intercessory prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his administration and Nigeria.
The meeting was presided over by the Director of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Lagos State Directorate of Christian Affairs, Rev. Dr Sam Ogedengbe.
In his welcome address, Ogedengbe commended the coordinators for their commitment and support, urging them to remain dedicated to the objectives of the organisation.
He called on members to work diligently towards what he described as a decisive electoral victory for President Tinubu and the Lagos State political leadership ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogedengbe also directed coordinators across the LGAs and LCDAs to intensify church-to-church sensitisation and mobilisation, stressing the importance of taking the organisation’s message to the grassroots.
The meeting featured the introduction of participants and the announcement of Senatorial District Coordinators for Lagos West and Lagos East. New coordinators from various LGAs and LCDAs were also unveiled, while some existing structures were reorganised into smaller units to improve coordination and grassroots effectiveness.
A major highlight of the meeting was the accreditation of coordinators. Participants submitted their respective action plans, which were reviewed and received positively by the leadership.
The Secretary, Deaconess Dolapo Ademosu, subsequently announced the names of accredited coordinators on the nominal list, with those present confirming their participation.
The organisation also used the meeting to strengthen its communication strategy, as jingles produced by the directorate were played and positively received by participants.
Administrative matters were addressed by the Director of Administration, Primate Dare Akindele, while further deliberations were held during breakout sessions involving the various senatorial groups and the Women’s Group.
The meeting also featured media engagements, with members of the directorate and selected coordinators interviewed by the organisation’s Media Team. The proceedings were simultaneously streamed live.
Meanwhile, Christian leaders and ministers across Lagos State have endorsed President Tinubu for a second term in office, according to the organisers.
Those identified with the endorsement included Baba Alao of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Archbishop Olawuyi of the Methodist Church, Prophet Ayorinde of WEBIC, and Rev. Dr Sam Ogedengbe, General Overseer of Overcomers Church and President of the All Christian Leaders and Ministers Forum.
