As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen quality service delivery in Lagos State public health facilities, General Hospital Imota recently hosted the Service Charter Assessment Monitoring Committee and the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation (OTCI), Office of the Head of Service, Alausa, on an official assessment and monitoring visit.
The assessment team was warmly received by the Medical Director/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Adenike Olanrewaju Imosun, alongside members of the hospital's Service Charter Committee
Leading the delegation, the State Service Improvement Officer and Deputy Director of Nursing Services, Ministry of Health, Mrs. Joan Olayemi, inspected various wards and departments to assess the hospital's compliance with Service Charter standards and evaluate the quality of healthcare services provided to patients
Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Olayemi stated that the exercise was designed to assess service delivery standards and introduce a Quick Response (QR) Code feedback system that will enable patients to rate services, access relevant information, and submit complaints or suggestions directly to the appropriate authorities.
She explained that the hospital's Service Charter Committee is expected to designate an officer who will educate patients on the use of the QR Code to ensure effective utilization of the platform. According to her, the initiative will further strengthen the State's monitoring and evaluation of service delivery performance across public healthcare facilities.
Following the inspection, Mrs. Olayemi commended General Hospital Imota for the significant improvements recorded in its infrastructure and patient care services. She described the hospital's progress as commendable, while noting that additional requirements must still be fulfilled before the facility can attain full Service Charter accreditation.
She encouraged the Director of Service Delivery and Head of the Pharmaceutical Services Department, Pharm. Rafiat Ogunfodunrin, together with members of the Service Charter Committee, to sustain their commitment and ensure that all outstanding requirements are met before the next assessment by the Office of Transformation, Creativity and Innovation.
Mrs. Olayemi also emphasized the need for continuous orientation programmes for front desk officers to enhance their understanding of the Service Charter initiative, its guiding principles, and the importance of delivering responsive, transparent, and patient-centred healthcare services.
The visit underscores the commitment of General Hospital Imota to continuous quality improvement and aligns with the Lagos State Government's vision of promoting excellence, accountability, innovation, and efficient service delivery across public institutions.
