In politics, leadership is not only measured by the offices occupied but also by the respect accorded to those whose wisdom, guidance and sacrifices have shaped the journey of others. It was in this spirit of humility, loyalty and profound respect for party leadership that the Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu, made an unscheduled but highly symbolic visit to the residence of the Apex Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Moruf Gbadamosi Ojora, to celebrate his 65th birthday.

Despite his demanding official schedule on Monday, 27 July 2026, which included an inspection tour of the ongoing clearing of canal channels across the council area, Hon. Saliu deliberately paused his official assignment to pay homage to the revered party leader at his residence on Opeloyeru Street, Badia. 

The visit underscored an enduring truth—that effective leadership flourishes where there is unwavering respect for party elders and appreciation for those who have laid the foundation for progress.

The chairman's thoughtful gesture resonated beyond a mere birthday courtesy call. It reflected the enduring values of the APC family, where loyalty, gratitude and reverence for exemplary leadership remain essential pillars of political service.

During the warm and memorable visit, Hon. Saliu expressed profound appreciation to Alhaji Gbadamosi Ojora for his steadfast support. He described the celebrant as a quintessential leader whose wealth of experience and commitment to the growth of the party continue to inspire both elected officials and party faithful alike.

In a deeply spiritual moment, the chairman offered heartfelt prayers for the celebrant's continued good health, long life and divine protection, reciting verses from the Holy Qur'an to reinforce his supplications. He also fondly recalled that immediately after taking the oath of office as Executive Chairman a year ago, the home of Alhaji Gbadamosi Ojora was his very first port of call—an enduring testament to the immense respect and value he places on the party's apex leadership.

Accompanying the council chairman on the visit were the Vice Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Fadekemi Otitonaye; the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Ibrahim Ahmed Olanrewaju; the Chief of Staff, Hon. Fatai Olanrewaju; councillors; and other political appointees.

As Alhaji Moruf Gbadamosi Ojora marks this significant milestone of 65 remarkable years, the visit by Hon. Jimoh Olawale Saliu stands as more than a birthday felicitation. It is a powerful affirmation that true leadership is rooted in humility, gratitude and honouring those whose legacy continues to strengthen the party and inspire future generations.
