The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, has joined millions across the world to celebrate fathers and father figures, acknowledging their sacrifices, commitment and invaluable contributions to family development and nation building.
In a goodwill message marking International Father’s Day, the Council described fathers as pillars of strength whose guidance, protection and support remain critical to raising responsible future generations.
The NUJ Lagos State Council noted that fathers play a significant role in nurturing values, shaping character and providing the foundation upon which families and communities thrive.
The Council Chairman, Adeleye Ajayi, and Secretary, Tunde Olalere, in the statement, commended fathers across various professions and sectors, particularly men in the media industry who continue to balance the demands of journalism and public service with their responsibilities at home.
“Your resilience, integrity and devotion remain a source of inspiration and admiration,” the Council stated, while applauding fathers for their dedication to the wellbeing of their families.
The journalists’ body urged men to continue to lead with wisdom, compassion and responsibility, stressing that the influence of a caring father extends beyond the home to promoting community development, social stability and national progress.
The NUJ Lagos State Council further wished all fathers a joyful celebration, praying for continued good health, happiness, strength and fulfilment as they watch their families flourish and succeed.
