– Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) is set to participate in the official launch of the "𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭 𝐀 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥" 𝐒𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭 (𝐒𝐅𝐓) – 𝐏𝐁𝐀𝐓 𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞, a strategic intervention designed to strengthen child nutrition, improve school attendance, and enhance learning outcomes among pupils in public primary schools.⁣

The programme, scheduled to commence on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, is being implemented under the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP). Led by the National Coordinator, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, through the National Social Investment Programmes Agency (NSIPA) of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, this initiative is executed in partnership with the Lagos State Government and Conference 57.⁣

This initiative represents a significant milestone in collective efforts to combat childhood hunger, promote educational development, and strengthen social protection mechanisms for vulnerable children across the state and nation.⁣

As part of the Lagos State rollout, Apapa-Iganmu LCDA has been selected as one of the participating councils. Metropolitan Nursery and Primary School, Sari-Iganmu, has been designated as the primary take-off centre within the LCDA. The school is among the institutions chosen to benefit from the first phase of the programme, which targets 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝟕 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞.⁣

While the official state launch ceremony will take place at Lagos Island East LCDA, the feeding programme will simultaneously commence at Metropolitan Nursery and Primary School, Sari-Iganmu, where eligible pupils will begin receiving nutritious snacks designed to support their health, concentration, and academic performance.⁣

A major highlight of the initiative is the unveiling of the PBAT FEEDS Digital Dashboard, an innovative, technology-driven platform designed to promote transparency, accountability, efficiency, and real-time monitoring of programme implementation and impact assessment.⁣

The Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Hon Jimoh Olawale Saliu, commends the Federal Government, the Lagos State Government, Conference 57, and the leadership of the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme for this laudable intervention. This project directly aligns with the administration's broader efforts to build a healthier, better-educated, and more productive generation of young Nigerians.⁣
