Office of the Chief of staff trains Junior Officers on Career Growth, Health & Work Ethics

In a bid to strengthen and promote capacity development within its work force, the Office of the Chief of Staff/Governor’s Office has organized an in-house 2-day training targeted at junior officers focusing on career growth, health awareness, personal finance management and work ethics.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary Office of the Chief of Staff; Mr. Semiu Kadri emphasized the importance of early career development and personal discipline among officers. According to him, “the future of the public service depends largely on how well we prepare officers today. Beyond technical competence, officers must understand the importance of good health, financial responsibility and strong work ethics in sustaining a successful and fulfilling career”.  

The Permanent Secretary further noted that Public service demands professionalism, accountability and a commitment to excellence, adding that the training is aimed at instilling the right values and mindset that will guide officers throughout their careers and positively impact service delivery.

Speaking at the programme, one of the facilitator; Mr. Sarafadeen Durowoju stressed the importance of continuous self-development for career sustainability, work ethics highlighting core public service values such as integrity, discipline, teamwork, accountability and commitment to duty.

Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing the programme as timely, enlightening and impactful. Many noted that the knowledge gained would positively influence both their professional conduct and personal lives.
