Lagos Holds Seminar on Succession Planning in Honour of Retiring Permanent Secretary, Olumide Sogunle

In a fitting tribute to a distinguished public servant, the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, held the June Special Edition of its Public Affairs Continuing Professional Development Seminar (PACPDS) in honour of the retiring Permanent Secretary, Mr. Olumide Michael Sogunle.

The event, which took place at the Eko FM Multipurpose Hall, Agidingbi, Ikeja, focused on the theme: "Succession Planning: Building a Sustainable Future." The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Folake Feyisayo Olowokudejo, Director of the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Programme at the University of Lagos.

In her presentation, Professor Olowokudejo emphasized the need for proactive talent grooming and leadership transition strategies within the public service to ensure continuity, institutional memory, and sustainable development.

The seminar drew a high-level audience comprising General Managers, Directors, and Public Affairs Officers across Lagos State, underscoring the importance of structured professional development and knowledge transfer in the state's governance architecture.

Participants lauded Mr. Sogunle’s decades-long service and contributions to public communication in Lagos, describing him as a model of professionalism, mentorship, and administrative excellence.

The June edition of PACPDS not only celebrated a career of impact but also provided a platform for forward-thinking conversations on preparing the next generation of leaders in the public service
